It is the Scandinavian fashion week (Stockholm, Sweden, Oslo and Norway) and Stockholm Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 has embraced the Swedish capital from 8 to 11 August 2011. Although FashionInsideOut is based in London, it brings the details to its wonderful readers.
Yesterday the catwalk opened with designer Rodebjer at Vinterviken, who showcased flat shoes, hats, big clutches and kept the colour blocking sensation of Spring/Summer 2011. Watch the video from Star TV here.
Sponsored by Mercedes-Benz the event is taking place at the luxurious boutique hotel Berns Salonger at Berzelii Park in the heart of Stockholm. From the venue, Malin Lindeborg working in the marketing area says that it has been very hectic, but admits loving the new colourful collections and the atmosphere.
Collections have brought a wave of romanticism, adding a modern and chic touch with its accessories such as feather necklaces and dramatic shoes.
Around 800 brands are showing their new 2012 collections. Designers include Busnel, Dagmar, Cheap Monday, Boomerang, Carin Wester, Rützou, Rodebjer, Swedish Hasbeens, Pablo Ramírez and other Swedish and international brands ready to hit the catwalk at Berns hotel.
For some designers, such as Susanne Rützou, it is the first time showcasing their masterpieces at SFW. This Copenhaguen-based designer added a splash of colours to the catwalk with bright blues, oranges and yellows.
Together with other partners and suppliers such as Coca Cola Light, Visit Sweden and Max Factor, Stockholm Fashion Week has a day ahead full of excitement and stylish personalities. Have fun Sweden, while it lasts. London is anxious waiting for our turn in September.
