London has make it number ONE capital in the fashion business! So, move on New York, British fashion icons have overtaken.

The thing is that lots have happened in London in the past two years. British designer John Galliano faces racism trial in Paris; in 2010 Alexander McQueen committed suicide but his brand has lived on, and even the artistic director of his label Sarah Burton designed the sensational wedding dress of Kate Middleton, the new Duchess of Cambridge. Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa both has become fashion icons following Kate’s engagement and marriage to Prince William. They wear British brands that are accessible to the general public such as L.K Bennet, Burberry, Modalu London bags.

At the recent royal tour Kate Middleton proudly wore classic and sometimes chic British designs that help brands’ recognition overseas. Also, she wore local designers pieces depending on her stop. Have a look at all her outfits in the tour here!

According to a survey by the Global Language Monitor, London came from third position to first overtaking New York and the top five fashion capitals placed Paris No. 3, followed by Milan and Los Angeles. It also pointed out that Berlin and Singapore broke into the top 10 for the first time since the Texas-based survey began eight years ago.

*** According to Reuters, the Global Language Monitor is based on a system that track the frequency of words and phrases  in all sorts of media.

I must say that I’m proud and happy to have launched the amazing Fashion Inside Out  in 2009 while living in London. It is time to exploit British talent out of the grey city!
