Remember that collaboration of Jimmy Choo with H&M? Stores were invaded by shopaholics leaving with 2, 3…5 blue boxes of a Choo’s pair of shoes.
Well, now it is Versace’s time to add Italian couture to the high street shop. In case that Versace is your thing, there’s only few weeks to go until the collection arrives in November!
The blondies of the moment, top models Daphne Groeneveld and Lindsey Wixson are the faces of this collaboration that will include colourful (maybe too colourful) and black designs with Versace’s classic touch. Full details to come as soon as Versace invades London and world’s high streets.
In fashion time pass by quickly and whatever happened, happened. Previous collections remain in the past. Some may leave legacy, but they’re gone.
However, I have noticed that some people keep asking for their Harry Potter star…”where’s Emma Watson in the Burberry ad?”…
Well, let me tell you that since Burberry’s AW10 collection, the brand had a nice turn. First, like Ralph Lauren, Burberry also took the technology challenge and added 3D effect to its campaign. And not only that, they have got the sexy Victoria Secret’s English angel and Transformers 3 ‘never crashed’ star, Rosie Huntington, in it. So since then, they said ‘bye bye’ to the innocent look of Emma Watson and ‘hey baby, hey baby, hey!’ to this gorgeous fat lips blondie. ~The first campaign resulted in an amazing work of the talented Christopher Bailey in collaboration with the awesomeness of my favourite Peruvian, Mario Testino.
Watch here Christopher Bailey talking about the innovation of the campaign:
Rosie Huntington Whiteley is now the main face for Burberry. Watch here the ad for Burberry’s new fragance BODY.
I got to share this with my lovely fashionistas. A great mix to target fashion and music lovers.
However, in the following video models look bored, yes that’s the point but still, much fun and lack of coordination. Don’t miss Lanvin’s designer Alber Elbaz dancing at the end! How cute is this French icon? Loving him.
Pitbull rocking not only the charts, but also LANVIN Paris: That black LANVIN dress knows I want it, and I know it wants me…
What about this PRADA remix showcasing SS 2011? Enjoy!
AMERICAN brand Ralph Lauren has been the classy, stylish and high-society polo players’ label that has invaded fashion stores worldwide since it was launched 40 years ago. It is particularly loved for its amazingly sexy blazers, polo shirts, skinny trousers and frangances… It’s all about the logo and that polo player on a horse…
Well, the Lauren boys (David Lauren and Tyler Gray) have taken the full risk of using latest technology to offer clients even an interactive24-hours shoppingwith touch screens on Ralph Lauren windows displays. So, when walking at midnight on the high street could be tempting.
It has also launched a very first 4D website, which offers online fashion shows for a full shopping experience from computers, mobile phones and iPads.

Showcasing an amazing exhibition it includes fabulous pieces that have been re-designed by students from MA Fashion Course of Central Saint Martins, who took inspiration from Pringle’s previous collections and classic designs. These designers are Viktor Smedinge, William Hendry, Yeori Bae, Timur Kim and Estefania Cortes Harker.
This A/W collection includes sweaters, mostly of all of them made of 100% cashmere, and others mixed with wool.
At the bottom floor of the store you will find the Archives Project collection, which aims to explain to its clients why is Pringle the best cashmere option and why it is worth paying so much for a quality piece by going back to the past through a history of 200 years producing cashmere while being the royal family’s favourite thoughout the years.
I particularly LOVE the dress lion intarsia (left), designed by Estefania Cortes Harker, who took inspiration from Pringle’s iconic lion emblem. This £995 knit is hand made and 100% cashmere. It gives the perfect touch to so much Englishness, it even made it to Teen Vogue as the favourite of this collection.
Yesterday the catwalk opened with designer Rodebjer at Vinterviken, who showcased flat shoes, hats, big clutches and kept the colour blocking sensation of Spring/Summer 2011. Watch the video from Star TV here.
FashionInsideOut had the amazing pleasure of visiting the new collection’s showroom of the Italian brand Dondup. With a great cocktail party in London Dondup plans to invade the capital with its unique pieces by top designers Manuela Mariotti for the women’s collection and Kevin James Morley for the men’s collection.
Everything is made locally at the embracing Italian town of Fossombrone and exported to London, where the collection is available at Knightsbridge’s department store Harvey Nichols.
While enjoying the night with great DJs, guests could walk around the room and have a look at the new collection, which with a touch of trashy vintage and a warrior spirit could bring a unique elegant style… Ohhh Italiaaaans… Mamma Mia!!!
The women’s collection is inspired by the American film from 1979, The Warriors, in which different gangs of sailors, baseball players, moonrunners and warriors came together to “fight the enemy”, but instead Dondup brings a message of love and friendship rather than hate and war.
So, collections are inspired by six particular gangs: The Sailors, full of white, blue, red and gorgeous blazers; The Romantics brings the 17th Century to the 21st; The Moonrunners gives an innocent touch with floral prints and comfortable fittings; The Baseball, inspired by the popular NY Yankees, features sporty tops and silk blouses; and The Warriors, as the strongest, has elegant pieces and lots of black and grey colours with designs coming purely from Manuela’s heart.
On the other hand, designer Kevin tells us that the men’s collection is called “The Wanderer” and his pieces made with Italian and Japanese fabric bring to life “a guy that travels from place to place, who gets some money to eat and live by playing music and being an artist.
And believe it or not this afro boy (Kevin James Morley), who makes reference to Bob Marley when spelling his surname, is a South Londoner from Croydan, who has been four years based in Fossombrone fully committed to Dondup. However, although he has been travelling around and living in Italy in the past years, his English spirit is still alive, if you ask him where to go for an afterparty, he will suggest “the pub”.
Meanwhile, top model Andres Velencoso has been the face of the brand for over four years while living between Barcelona and London. This Spanish guy not only caught Kylie Minogue’s attention, but was also in the eyes of the fashionistas at the reception, where with a great mood he agreed to pose for my lens. After some shots trying to get the baseball ball in the air, we finally achieved it and of course, I squeezed in the picture as well.
Displays are always a key thing for every store , no matter what their products are, the point is that they need to be attractive enough to invite you to come in. Particularly in London, department stores such as Selfridges in Oxford Street and Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge are very well know for having amazing, colourful and creative displays that blindly welcomes you to the store.
However, the building of such fantastic window schemes are almost out of our view unless you step by at the exact moment they are working on it, and that was precisely what happened to me.
TheFashionInsideOut brings you the Harvey Nichol’s displays in the making and consequently the artistic results. Because, honestly, more than showing their products, displays are simply a piece of ART.
As the cold weather is embracing the city, we can’t expect bright colours, but we can feel an autumn atmosphere, full of falling leaves from trees, camel, brown, black and white colours. And of course, style.
I personally think that this season Harvey Nichols’ team did a fantastic job. With a variety of lights and sense of a lost wild forest it traps you in a place full of fashionable adventures, let’s say it is a spot similar to Alice’s Wonderland.
