Embracing shops in the embracing French Riviera

While learning French in the breathtaking Cote d’ Azur of the French Riviera, I, of course, wandered around spotting cool local shop and unique designs in the blue coast.

Particularly in the colourful Old Town (Vieille Ville) of Villefranche-sur-Mer, I discovered a very small but amazingly embracing store, with an inviting owner selling beautiful silver and fantasy jewellery that is definitely worth buying, as for such a low price you’ll get a unique design… And well, I loved the store, my credit card didn’t.

It’s owner Francoise, kindly shared with FashionInsideOut her particular jewellery, where does it comes from, what material are they made of and what does tourists buy the most. Have a French taste of Villefranche’s best shop called Jouer de Plage:

In a nearby store I could also find the coolest “made in France” espadrilles for the amazing price of 10 a pair… who needs Toms?

Very close to Villefranche is the the exclusive and stunning small town of St Jean Cap Ferrat, which also has petit streets invaded by shops for locals and tourists visiting its turquoise waters. This was the most colourful and varied shop (favourite).

Oh... and how cool is this car parked in Cap Ferrat? Check out those seats!
WHALE TAIL: the best seat to choose your boat from.
Oh lala.... Quelle bateau?

Yes, Rosie Huntington replaced Emma Watson in 2010

In fashion time pass by quickly and whatever happened, happened.  Previous collections remain in the past. Some may leave legacy, but they’re gone.

However, I have noticed that some people keep asking  for their Harry Potter star…”where’s Emma Watson in the Burberry ad?”…

Well, let me tell you that since Burberry’s AW10 collection, the brand had a nice turn. First, like Ralph Lauren, Burberry also took the technology challenge and added 3D effect to its campaign. And not only that, they have got the sexy Victoria Secret’s English angel and Transformers 3 ‘never crashed’ star, Rosie Huntington, in it. So since then, they said ‘bye bye’ to the innocent look of Emma Watson and ‘hey baby, hey baby, hey!’ to this gorgeous fat lips blondie. ~The first campaign resulted in an amazing work of the talented Christopher Bailey in collaboration with the awesomeness of my favourite Peruvian, Mario Testino.

Watch here Christopher Bailey talking about the innovation of the campaign:

Rosie Huntington Whiteley is now the main face for Burberry. Watch here the ad for Burberry’s new fragance BODY.

Interview with Dondup’s men’s designer Kevin J Morley

Men's fashion designer Kevin J Morley

Let me introduce you to a South Londoner that ended up in the small Italian town of Fossombrone doing what he loves, designing clothes. Kevin James Morley is the men’s designer of Dondup, an Italian brand that is spreading around the world and invading top stores such as Harvey Nichols in London. I went to the showroom of their new collection and it is fabulous with an interesting inspirtation. Check it out! Enjoy this afro designer that have added an amazing touch to the brand.

How a South Londoner ends up in the Italian town of Fossombrone?

I arrived in Fossombrone at the request of Dirk Bikkembergs , Belgian designer. He saw some of my work and liked it. I was ready for a new challenge and wanted to go to Italy to learn and improve.

Did you first get into fashion while living in London?

I have always been interested in clothing and it’s power from a very young age. Influenced by what I saw and experienced, I learned quickly that dressing “correctly” is important.

Top designs hit the red carpet at Venice Film Festival 2011

The 68th Venice Film Festival has opened today and will be rocking the romantic Italian city until 10 September.

The red carpet saw actors, actresses and models ready to support the international cinema. Top model Cindy Crawford chose to wear a Roberto Cavalli red gown for the Opening Ceremony. With 45 years, she looks stunning as usual although her Cavalli choice is not my favourite! What do you think? (Picture from Cavalli’s Facebook group)

On the other hand, the Inglourious Bastards actress Diane Kruger chose Elie Saab Couture … liking the hippie and chic combined in a fresh look!

Fashion rhythm as Lanvin and Prada shake new campaigns

I got to share this with my lovely fashionistas. A great mix to target fashion and music lovers.

However, in the following video models look bored, yes that’s the point but still, much fun and lack of coordination. Don’t miss Lanvin’s designer Alber Elbaz dancing at the end! How cute is this French icon? Loving him.

Pitbull rocking not only the charts, but also LANVIN Paris: That black LANVIN dress knows I want it, and I know it wants me…

What about this PRADA remix showcasing SS 2011? Enjoy!
